I'm in Chicago and got a mailer today about the Empty Bottle's upcoming shows and indeed, the May 17 is listed as Destroyer (solo) --so who knows? It'll be fun and I'll be there, huzzah! Bejar is back!

Does anyone have any more info about the show at IU in bloomington? Its about a hour or 2 drive or me, but i can't find anything about tickets. is it a free show? or do students have first dibs? I'd hate to drive there and not get in.

Has anyone ever Dan solo? Can they describe it, if so?

I just got back from the bloomington show and it was really good. It was a lot more intimate than the previous show's I'd been too, which was interesting. Altho being on a college campus the crowd may have been one of the worsts I've seen. It was Very Chatty during the show and at one point some douche was waving a sign around that said "easy listening sucks". He was probably mad that they turned off the techno music that they had blasting before Dan's set. I think in the future I'd prefer to see him with a band tho. I noticed that I found myself singing along the missing instrumentals in my head many times during the show. It was deffinately worth seeing him play solo tho and I'm glad I had the opportunity to see it.

Thanks for this. How about the set list? there were 3 set lists on paper, all different. My friend got 2 of the. Between each song he would kneel down and have a look at them and just choose a song at random I suppose. Here is what I remember him playing right now. I know i'm missing a couple. He wasn't the headliner, he played right beforehand and only played for about 50 minutes. Updated info from the booking site. Looks like he'll end up at some festivals this year, but I was hoping for a more fleshed-out tour based on the last bit of information from the booking agent. Maybe this just means Dan's going to be working on a record during June. Or, you know, going to Spain or something.
I briefly entertained thoughts of a Swan Lake tour, but Sunset Rubdown already has lots of dates lined up during that break in Dan's touring schedule.
