i know that every forum that any of you have been on theres been a huge chat about swan lake's beast moans. ive talked about it a lot, (if you dont have it…i have no clue where youve been or your an AMAZINGLY GOOD, VERY CONTROLLED PERSON) but many people have had mixed thoughts about it. for me, one (or two) words on each song widow's walk - intense! nubile days - short, jittery, good song city calls - little draggy offish, when dan comes in, just amazing a venue called rubella - mediocre (on a swan lake album, fuckin incredible on the shins new album) all fires - honestly, one of the best songs in a long time, but after having it for so long… the partisan - love it! the freedom - "i put hex…" love it! petersburg - really like, i havnt bothered getting a nonskippy version pollenated girls - im sorry, but usually skip BLUEBIRD - #1 INCREDIBLE pleasure vessels - skip more than pollented girls are you swimming in - spencer did it again shooting rockets - i love it, when it gets going, thats why you listen to music, for places like that

I'm a controlled person.
That said, that's due to the fact I have no money and DIAL-UP IS TERRIBLE.
It's gonna be awesome I sense.

I'm neither. I actually (don't kill me please) don't really like Swan Lake. I do like The Freedom, though, because it sounds like a little bit of all things Destroyer.

Beast Moans was probably my most anticipated album ever.
I need a tour. Or a show here.
Something substantial and awesome.

I like it but not as much as I thought I would. It did spark more than a passing interest for Spencer Krug in my mind though. So that's a good thing. I hadn't gotten into Sunset Rubdown yet and I don't even have any Wolf Parade (of god the travesty).
But yeah, I do like the album. I would like if Jeff Mangum decided he wanted to join the group too. That would make me very very very happy.

As much as I love Destroyer and Frog Eyes (and Sunset Rubdown/Wolf Parade to a less extent), I've been pretty unimpressed. I still need to buy it though. I would like if Jeff Mangum decided he wanted to join the group too. Oh yeah I'm sure he'll get right on that.

The only thing that worries me about Swan Lake is Carey Mercer -- Frog Eyes has never impressed me; in fact, the more I hear, the less I WANT to hear.

disagree completely. i think carey is great…except when he abuses that ability to use echoes. how theyre used in the future is inter-disciplinary or not at all i think is fine. (when playing the ep straight through i love it!) if he submitted (yes, submitted) one of his fastish really catchy songs to be used for beast moans i think it wouldve been great though.

Just got my copy of BEAST MOANS today. Christ, it's awesome. I think I'll have to listen to it a few more times to fully appreciate all of the songs, but I'm loving it so far.

Wow, I just found Venue Called Rubella, and I think I like it even better than The Freedom. You guys are right, it is sort of growing on me. I might even buy it.
Still don't like Carey Mercer much though.
