Rumors are true, there is no Bejar participation on the new New Pornographers album (out 4/7). As explanation, Carl Newman provides a tiny tease for the next Destroyer release: Noisey: Destroyer's Dan Bejar isn't on this record. Is he taking a back seat with the New Pornographers for the foreseeable future? Carl: It's always been like that. Everything we were working on for this record was 160 BPM, and he's been working on a Destroyer record that's going to be very mellow. He was like, "All these songs I'm writing are quiet songs. If you know what you want to do on this record, maybe I'll sit this one out." noisey.vice.com/en_us/article/hear-a-song-from-the-new-pornographers-new-album-and-read-our-interview-with-carl-newman

Very good find — glad someone read about the New Pornographers! I checked to see if he was on the new album, and cause he wasn't simply wrote it off.

Sorry to say I sort of wrote it off, too. I have a New Porno's playlist that is like 98% only Dan songs, and it's the only Pornographer's I listen to. It's nice to hear the Destroyer record is in fact in process, though.
