I've been under the impression for some time that fans of Destroyer would probably just as easily be fans of LUKE HAINES. I suppose that, to be fair, I should tell you that I only own two of his albums, but still... In much the same fashion as Destroyer, Haines has intelligent and hard-to-decode lyrics that are generally self-referential or are references to obscure public figures. Very fun stuff. And his voice/delivery is noteworthy, he's got a breathy conspiratory sound that I absolutely love. I don't own Off My Rocker at the Art School Bop, so I can't speak authoritatively on it, but I've heard mixed reviews. Regardless, you may want to check it out: www.myspace.com/lukehaines
