Here is my review for Calgary's show... driving to Edmonton to see him again... it was AMAZING.
Dan Bejar came out shortly after, plugged in his guitar and went to work. I was sitting in the very front pew, and Dan took us to the new church and baptized us in song. He played a wide selection of songs from all over his discography, starting with "Your Blood," "Painter In Your Pocket," "Goddess of Drought." Dan then unveiled a pair of new songs (which we captured on film - the video will be uploaded on Monday), one called "Foam Hands" (?), which was basically the best song I have ever heard in my life, and another titled "Rivers" (from the set-list the lovely KL procured for me. It was hit after hit - "European Oils," "Virgin With a Memory," "Chosen Few," "Don't Become The Thing You Hated," "Certain Things You Ought To Know," and a one song encore of "The Temple." All in all, pound for pound, it was everything I wanted to see, and more.

Monday for sure. Captured a third new song in Edmonton - no title to speak of, but it was. in Dan's words "a bluesy number. Everyone loves the blues." He was fucking wasted, but it added a good dimension to the playing. Demons were definitely being held at bay.
