I liked the massive pauses between songs throughout the last show I saw (Avalon NYC 3/28/06), it gave it a "rehearsal" feel; a feel I cherish in Destroyer's recorded work.
But two favorite performances were the now-familiar punked-out Streethawk II and the incredible encore of Holly Going Lightly (made my friend finally buy This Night post-show).
Has anyone seen him do Bad Arts live? He seemed indifferent to shouted requests for it, and I can't find it on any bootlegs or setlists from threads.

I've never heard of Bad Arts done live.
The only time I saw him was at the Pitchfork Music Festival, and I was depressingly disappointed. Maybe if he hadn't a-followed an amazing Mountain Goats show it would have been better.

I've only seen him once, so I have to ask, is Dan /always/ totally smashed when doing a show? Like, I've seen Pearl Jam a bunch of times, and Eddie Vedder is certainly drunk, but the Montreal show last year, Dan must have drank 2 full bottles of wine... it seemed kind of sketch...
