The set list from Hillside looked amazing. “I Want This Cyclops”!!!! Have you seen the footage of two of the new songs? Holy shit. Already stuck in my head. youtu.be/cCCpEMO00usyoutu.be/3O-yyhc3OpsSo many random live dates coming up... Thanks for the links! The beginning of Come out reminded me of some more recent songs such as Sometimes in the world or Stay lost, with, I guess, the simple "Take a look around you" lines and then some very recognizably Destroyer lines afterwards, I really liked it. Can't imagine what he would do with the recording of these two tho, especially the second song. Also, I thought this version of Your blood was great www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyyohlYhjb4 Yes, and with all the show dates appearing out of nowhere, that must be a good sign

I’ve been checking YouTube daily like a mad man for a recording of “Crimson Tide” and “I Want This Cyclops” (it looks like he played it again as an encore at SPACE in Illinois).
I’m not able to make it up to New York/Brooklyn tomorrow like I’d hoped, if anyone is going to any of the solo shows and is able to capture any of the new songs or deep/old cuts, I’d be so appreciative!

Lucky you!
I enjoyed the interview, excited that a new album may be in the works also.
That’s pretty cool that he played songs that really spanned his records. Usually from Thief he goes with the Temple or To The Heart Of The Sun, On The Back Of The Vuktire, but I’d really love to hear him play Canadian Lover/Falcon’s Escape. And I’m still impatiently waiting to hear Crimson Tide at some point.

I finally caved and signed up for the Merge 30th anniversary subscription. For some reason I couldn't imagine that any Destroyer material would be involved. But the promo email a few days ago included a photo of Dan - extremely effective marketing, you got me! The photo was from that "Heroes" tribute performance at UNC last year. Maybe hinting at one of the exclusives with the subscription, an LP pressing of the live show maybe?

Looks like Dan has a solo set in Williamstown, Massachusetts on July 25th. Part of the New Horizon art project. From an online article: "Dan Bejar of the indie rock band Destroyer will improvise a set inspired by the landscape." Wanted to post in case anyone was in the area and wanted to attend. So far nothing on the Merge page.
