News!!! pitchfork.com/news/destroyer-announces-new-album-ken-shares-new-song-listen/amp/"Sky's Grey" sounds great - and the preferred spelling! Already feeling personally attached to this album - I was obsessed with Suede, even in the fan club and knew the "Ken" thing. Definitely on board with the feeling Dan's getting at in the press blurb! Heady days. Track listing includes all the new ones from the Spokane 9/16 show, plus "Sometimes in the World", and 5 unknown. 01 Sky’s Grey 02 In the Morning 03 Tinseltown Swimming in Blood 04 Cover From the Sun 05 Saw You at the Hospital 06 A Light Travels Down the Catwalk 07 Rome 08 Sometimes In the World 09 Ivory Coast 10 Stay Lost 11 La Regle du Jeu Hoping for some domestic tour dates. Good excuse for a Euro trip!!! Thoughts from the designer, interesting: hundredsandthousands.squarespace.com/robinmitchellcranfield/2017/7/21/destroyer-ken

I know it's only been a few days, but how did I miss this! Happy it's the preferred spelling also! Was kinda surprised by the sound, but I feel like it'll be a really cool album. Hopefully they'll do some US dates!

Good call on the Amazon Music Samples! I always forget that hey do that. The samples have me really excited for the album, it seems to have the same thing as Kaputt, where all the songs seamlessly go into the next, they seem to fit together so well.

Tour dates in my area are exactly the same as the Poison Season circuit: starts off in Portland, ends with Seattle and Vancouver - even the same venues. Got my tickets!
I am hopeful that there will be another KEXP session (I guess the afternoon of the Seattle date, like last tour). Since the 2015 in-studio, KEXP has moved into a new space where public viewing is available for sessions. I would not miss it! I didn't know that the bizarre International Village mall in Van used to be "Tinseltown" - but I have warm memories that that was where I *finally* found an ATM that would take my debit card, my first time i Vancouver. So this record is punching all my emotional buttons so far. I love it. Amazon tidbits are beauty. Could not be more excited for this album.
Anyone else making plans to see the tour?

Definitely gonna see them at Underground Art in Philly! Maybe in NYC or DC but I saw them last time in Philly and Underground Arts and it was great! So excited for the album, I've been listening to Tinseltown and Sky's Grey like crazy.

That interview was highly entertaining!
Dan has seemed open to providing specific song-by-song insights with this album in a way he hasn't before. Maybe he's just getting better interviewers. It's great when there's a rapport, when the person actually seems knowledgeable and familiar with the catalog, then the conversation gets interesting. Plus when he's comfortable, Dan is very funny. But I've seen some bad interviews where he had to talk to real goofs.

In that interview, Dan talks about pal-in’ around with the other DB - Dave Berman. Just got the new album from DB2’s Purple Mountains. Worth the wait! Half expected a DB1 appearance, but he is mentioned in the thanks, along with D Carswell and Josh Wells. “Sky’s Grey” appears in the David Berman: What I’m Listening To playlist that came out on Tidal today. Nice to see these two making the connection. Love ❤️🇨🇦🤝🇺🇸
Might have to try to get to Huichica in Walla Walla to see these titans together.
