I've been listening to a couple of cd's I got for Christmas -- NOTORIOUS LIGHTNING & OTHER WORKS and Bad Religion's SUFFER. I also bought Greg Graffin's solo cd recently, but it's kind of off-putting (the lead singer of Bad Religion singing "let's keep following Jesus".. I don't care if it's supposed to be ironic, it's still hard to get into). Sunset Rubdown's first cd is in the mail, and I'm looking forward to that. Also, I'm loving the RENT soundtrack.

Wrens-'Seacaucus.' I downloaded it a long time ago, but just now bought a copy. For an album I've known for so long, it was amazing to me how wrong I was about the lyrics!

i stumbled upon a copy of Beast Moans at a flea market this weekend. i asked the fellow for Destroyer, but he says several hardcore bejar junkies hit him up for all his stock. undetered, i asked him for any Zumpano that may be available. "that stuff goes into my collection-not for sale." www.newworldcds.comi also picked up Ladyhawk's debut and Neko Case's old band Maow.

I got the Joy Division vinyl box set for x-mas. What a weird item - the "original artwork" the box promises is actually new art, which is nothing more than blank, coloured sleeves (White for Closer, Black for Unknown Pleasures, Grey for Still).
