no problem. also i remember him playing "the chosen few" now. he didn't play anything i hadn't heard which is one thing i was hoping for, altho i think there was one or two songs written on one of the set list i had not heard of. my friend had that tho so i'll have to look later. |

The Seattle show at the Crocodile Cafe was very good--with a receptive audience--so Dan even bantered a bit throughout the night. The set list included (not in actual order):

The sound was great, and it was good to hear all the lyrics. Definitely worth the trip!

Stonian, I hope you have a kick-ass time at the show. Be sure to post the set list. By the way, if you're Weston, just to let you know, I'm Steve's brother, Buddy. We saw the show in Carborro a few years ago together and it was awesome. Let us know how this show is.

And one or two others I know I'm missing, but overall I was super pleased. The only complaints it seemed like anyone had from last night were the loud assholes in the front.
I'm also going tonight, which is at a more intimate venue. Should be fun.

Last night at the Swedish American Hall was way better than the Cafe Du Nord show. Better sound, smaller (better, more polite) crowd, and ostensibly because "they were animals last night, someone took my setlist and I can't remember what I played" he played a ton of old songs. Set list, in order:

Stonian's San Francisco Review:
I wont post the setlist for these shows as its been did.
Both shows were great. Captain Douchebag at Cafe Du Nord nearly ruined the set by trying to sing louder than Dan Bejar. Highlights from the first night included Self-Portrait which I had yet to hear live and was super fantastic. And someone requesting "Louie, Louie" by The Kingsmen.
Second night upstairs was the perfect follow-up to the night before. Calm, sober, polite crowd. Silence during each performance. The setlist was great (he mentioned he decided to play less frequently played songs due to a setlist gone missing the night before), a dream for early-mid Destroyer fans (or just for those who are aware of Dan Bejar's existence pre-Rubies. Highlights included "The Music Lovers", "Self-Portrait" again, and a most amiable version of Queen of Languages. Midway through Mr. Bejar forgot how to play the song and was noble enough to enjoy a laugh with us about it. Dan was incredibly talkative and more lively than usual.
All in all, it was absolutely worth flying 3000 miles to see these shows.
I am in the process of uploading videos of Song for Acuarela, Music Lovers, It ain't easy being a baby... (New Song), and a bit of European Oils ( My camera ran out of memory). Ill post them as soon as they are on you tube.
PS. I stole the setlist.

Stonian, can't wait to hear/see the footage you got. That second show looks ungodly!!! Small, intimate, and all of those older classics...I'm very jealous!!! Glad you had an awesome time!
Thanks also to helloprotagonist for the setlists for the shows and the video of Virgin with a Memory. AWESOME!!! I wish I coulda been there!
